With summer just around the corner and kids on summer vacation, many parents struggle to find family friendly places that can allow the entire family to enjoy their day. Las Vegas is often times seen as an adult playground; however, there are many things that can be fun for the whole family. Here are a couple of family friendly places that are great to visit during these summer months:
Water Parks: It is no secret that it gets extremely hot in Las Vegas. Water parks are a great way to escape the heat and allow the entire family to enjoy a day filled with fun! Wet & Wild has officially opened for the 2019 summer season and is holding weekly events. For example, starting May 24th there will be a “Dive- In- Movie” every Thursday. There will also be “Summer Reading” sessions for younger children and “Saturday DJ Sessions” for the older ones! Wet & Wild is not the only water park we have in Southern Nevada. Cowabanga Bay is also a great place to enjoy a summer day! It is the home of thrilling water slides, fun splash pools, and a relaxing lazy river. Both of these are great options for anybody in Las Vegas looking to escape the heat and have a fun time!
Downtown Container Park: The Downtown Container Park is a hidden gem in Las Vegas! It is located on Freemont Street and is a great place for shopping, dining, and fun events. The Downtown Container Park is home to a variety of different restaurants that range from a stoned-baked pizza parlor to an ice cream shop that serves ice cream in waffles! There is also have a fun playground and splash pool for younger children. In addition, there are weekly events, like a karaoke nights and art shows. And the best part of all is that it is totally free!
Springs Preserve: If you’re looking for a fun day filled with nature and Nevada history, Springs Preserve is the place to go! Springs Preserve is 180 acres filled with countless things to do. One of the many things that it is known for is their award-winning botanical garden. It also is home to a beautiful Butterfly Habitat that allows you to have a firsthand experience with different butterfly species. Additionally, there are daily events and fun holiday themed festivals! This is definitely a must-do this summer!
